WAAIT. We about to hit 2019 already! Stop playing…but no on a serious note I can remember December 31st, 2017 like it was yesterday. I was standing and praying in church until it hit 12AM. Isn’t crazy how time flies especially as you get older…
I hope you all had a wonderful and eventful Christmas. To be quite honest, I usually don’t like the holidays for a number of personal reasons. One, my beloved brother whose birthday falls on Christmas passed away in 2012..since then the holidays have never been the same for my family and I. However, this year I decided to reflect on how far God has brought me. It is truly a blessing to be alive from January to December. I am sure many of you know people who have fallen ill or who have passed away. This time of the year is a time to reflect, pray and be thankful. Not only should we be in a time of reflection but we should be in a time of prayer for the blessings God is about to place in front of us. I don’t know about you but 2019 is about to be a WHOLE NEW LEVEL..
But first and foremost.. 2018 was definitely an eye opener and I am so grateful for the lessons I have learned.
I graduated college with my bachelors degree…I turned 22.. I started my masters degree.. I finally started saving LOL (big girl things)… I worked at two top news television companies.. I seeked Christ more.. I gained many new friends and professional connections… I learned a lot about myself for sure and most importantly I gained a whole new understanding of life..oh and I finally started my fitness journey.. the list goes on.
All in all I believe everything that has happened to me is not by my own doing but by the doing of God. Of course 2018 wasn’t all roses and daises.. I faced a lot of obstacles and challenges.. but guess what..I OVERCAME them. One thing I took from this year is to be serious in all that you do. Don’t take things for granted. Don’t sell yourself short. Don’t allow the devil to steal your joy or to steal the opportunities God has given to you. This is just a stepping stone for the BIG thing that is about to come..
I hope all of you will take the time out before it hits the 31st to take in consideration of not only the bad but the good of 2018. Whatever you couldn’t do this year.. set your mind to fulfill in the new year.
Wishing you ALL a Happy Holidays and a prosperous New Year. See you in 2019…
